Eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and lean protein is vital to our overall health but also can be a big benefit for our oral health.

The effects of Vitamin C on the prevalence and treatment of periodontal disease known as gum disease have been studied in depth.

One of the randomised clinical trials in 2018 looked at kiwi fruit which is high in Vitamin C, minerals and polyphenols.

Researchers discovered that participants eating 2 pieces of kiwi fruit a day for 5 months had significantly reduced gum inflammation, compared with the control group.

For years we’ve known that 5 veg & 2 fruits a day is good for us but now research says it’s good for our oral health too.
