Are you a gum gardener?
06 March 2017 . Posted by Laurelyn in Tips and TricksLike noxious weeds, harmful germs grow along the gumline. And if you don’t do a spot of gardening, they can be a real danger to your breath and gum health.
If you use an electric toothbrush with a round brush head, that’s great because it will do all the work. The key to brushing well is to guide the brush slowly from tooth to tooth, following the contours of the tooth, curve of the gums and tipping slightly in-between the teeth.
So get rid of the weeds and your mouth will look and smell its best.

No smoke but plenty of heat
27 February 2017 . Posted by Laurelyn in Tips and TricksE-cigarettes have intriguing flavours like pina colada and are a popular trend right now. But how harmful are they from a dental standpoint?
The devices are battery powered and heat liquids laced with nicotine which contacts the mouth at its hottest. This may result in dry mouth, dry cough, mouth ulcerations or even chemical burns.
And then there’s the addictive nature of the nicotine, a vasoconstrictor which raises blood pressure.
Is it really worth a try?
